Work in a beautiful and structured way
With the term study, many associate packed filing cabinets and a huge ergonomic office chair that is good for the back, but looks anything but beautiful. Of course, you have to ask yourself what’s more important, and that’s your own health, of course. But do offices always have to look like this, especially if they are to be set up at home? Can’t a home office be adapted to the rest of the interior? Does it always have to look directly like an office, where you drag yourself to every morning only reluctantly? The answer is clear: it doesn’t have to, and in the rest of this article you can read how exactly that works.
For many, the most important piece of furniture is probably the desk, so it’s also the starting point of our room in this case. The one used in this room looks quite different from the classic desk made of wood with a lot of storage space. It consists of two metal trestles and a black wooden top, which simply lie on top of each other. First of all, this looks totally delicate and makes the room look very airy, and secondly, it can also easily change location without much effort. You have a lot of legroom under it, which you should definitely pay attention to if you sit at your desk a lot and, for some more, for others less important, you can easily clean the floor under it.
This workplace impresses first of all with its openness, because there are no closed cabinets behind which you can hide chaos, but only a few boxes for paper or small items. Accordingly, you are forced to keep things in order and quickly part with things you don’t need. But then when you sit at your desk, it pays off because you have a sense of structure and a much freer mind. You can focus entirely on your work and enjoy the order of the room.
A home office is just a room, too….
Tricking the eye
Also with this room it is important to think about what belongs in the foreground and what should disappear for the eye ehr. This room is a good example to understand this phenomenon. In the photo, the furniture is black or white, the white furniture seems to merge with the wall and so is only really visible at second glance. For example, this is the ladder shelf, in which the objects inside seem to float. Above the desk is a white bar, where it is the same. This makes the room look like there are a lot less things in it than there really are. The two stools in front of the desk are also barely present because of their white thin feet.
No one wants a room that looks like a puff of nothing. Well, for some, a completely white room might be something, but especially in the study, it doesn’t make sense. After all, you can’t concentrate on anything else, because the eye has no clear lines to hold on to. The black desk, the table lamp and the grid on the wall provide visual structure and clarity. By the way, the grid is a great purchase for the workplace, you can attach postcards, reminders or motivational sayings there and change them at will.
Work like in nature
Without the many plants in this home office, this space would definitely be half as nice. They add liveliness and freshness to the otherwise quite planar looking room. Their greenery adds color to the room and their wildly growing leaves break up the straight lines of the furniture. Many plants in the home office, usually not necessarily the standard, but for us an absolute must to create a pleasant working atmosphere!
