Lightness in Modern Style

This living room thrives on personal items and expertly showcases them without looking cluttered or untidy. How does it work? The Modern Style of this room comes across as light on its feet. The sofa and coffee table are Scandinavian understated, their long feet leaving the floor exposed. The red bicycle standing on a dresser on the couch immediately catches your eye because it is such an unusual sight. But why not actually? The modern style allows for anything! It’s a great eye-catcher and colorful accent in the interior, which is otherwise kept in natural colors. The white wheels of the bike and the cream-colored sofa are a nice contrast to the dark wall.

Also a good tip: do not put the sofa directly against the wall, as is the case in certainly 80% of German households. If you leave free space behind the couch, it looks much more informal and the living room gets a looser atmosphere. The picture or and the porcelain with the letters gives the living room a personal touch, as well as the souvenir shelf in the back left. It is in the same dark wood as the side table, which looks much more harmonious than adding an extra wood color to it. Modern style is all about a harmonious overall look.

The many plants in the room also catch your eye. They are especially good for adding freshness and liveliness to a room. The emerald green blanket and pillow in the same color fits perfectly with the rest of the room for two reasons. First, it comes from the green color family and matches the color scheme of the plants. So you didn’t bring a new color into the room, but chose a color that is so similar already in the room. This creates tranquility for the eye and the fabrics fade more into the background. Besides: the emerald green and the velvety surface of the fabrics give the room even more elegance.
