Why is personal hygiene important?

A body care routine in which you only use products that have been specially formulated for your skin type will not only ensure that you have beautiful skin to show off in any season, but it will also improve your well-being. What makes the perfect body care routine?

Your body care routine should definitely consist of products that are gentle on your skin. Make sure they are formulated to be PH skin neutral, as this indicates how acidic or basic an aqueous solution is. Thus, a neutral formulation will not attack your skin’s natural acid mantle.

Step 1: Shower gel and body scrub

Your body care routine starts in the shower. By using a mild shower gel with fragrances that virtually awaken your senses, you’ll start the day off just right. If you’re more the type to shower before bedtime, go for scents that relax you and make you forget the stressful day at work. For this, you can also use essential oils that you can easily mix with your beauty products. This way you can vary your body care routine according to your mood! Once a week, you should rid your skin of dry skin flakes. For this purpose, there are body scrubs that you apply to wet skin with gentle circular movements. These are gentler on your skin than the following products. Body brushes or exfoliating gloves can be used wet, with the addition of your favorite shower gel, and massaged into your skin in the same circular motion. You can also use a body brush such as a facial cleansing brush on dry skin areas like elbows and knees. These beauty tools exfoliate the skin more, stimulate blood circulation to the skin and your skin will glow! For your face, you can use a face mask, which you can also make yourself. Tip: If you’re in a hurry and don’t have time for your body care routine in the morning, you can add moisturizing oils to your shower gel. This way, your skin won’t be too tight and you can skip the lotion.

Step 2: Hair removal

In summer, hair removal is part of your daily body care routine. However, if you use products that remove the hair including the root, then you have peace for a few days or even weeks! If it should be a shave, then you should do it after the body peeling or using the body brush. By removing dead skin scales and making the skin smooth, you avoid ingrown hairs. You should also use shaving cream. This ensures that you have a smooth shave without injuries. Tip: If you don’t have shaving cream at hand, hair conditioner will do the trick!

Step 3: Body cream and oils

This is also the last and a valuable step of your body care routine. There are different forms of body creams. Your choice depends on what skin type you have. We recommend you to use a light lotion for normal and undemanding skin. The drier your skin is, the richer and thicker in consistency your body cream should be. Be sure to include plenty of natural oils in your body care routine, such as avocado, olive, coconut and macadamia oils or shea butter. These nourish your skin and lay on it like a protective film, which is very important not least for issues such as pimples and foot care. You can mix these nourishing oils together with aromatic oils into your body cream and thus constantly vary your body care routine! Tip: If you have very dry skin, you can replace your body cream with pure oils. Apply the oils after showering on damp skin. This way you ensure that the oils are well absorbed into the skin, since on dried skin the oil is merely superficial.
